Avoid the pitfalls of security recruitment

By far the largest area of focus for international civilian contractors operating in conjunction with military bases falls on security recruitment. This does not necessarily refer to warzones – wherever there is a US military base or a UN delegation focussing on peacekeeping or crisis control, there will be a need for a taskforce of this nature. Job duties could therefore include much more than only combat related activities, but also incorporate operational and logistics functions.

As a company that specialises in recruiting talent for a position like this, you need to be sure of the individuals you employ. First of all you need to find a source of interested candidates. Secondly, you must be sure that they qualify for these positions and have sufficient experience in the field. You do not want to be wasting your time on individuals who are not committed to doing the job properly. Added to that, you want to find this group of people as quickly as possible, without spending a fortune on the sourcing.

On the other hand, individuals who do qualify for these positions should be able to find out about vacancies and have the means to contact the right authorities in order to apply. You should be able to browse through your options and consider each of them carefully, knowing exactly what you are getting yourself into. Therefore it is necessary to know whether the companies that offer the positions are reputable, whether they operate within the law and have ethics that are of the right standard. The compensation for these jobs is very high, but that should not be the only consideration. That is worth nothing if the company that employ you cannot be trusted.

International Contractors Association addresses all these issues concerning security recruitment. Security contractors can advertise jobs to an existing database of professionals and be sure that they are reaching the desired target market, while interested candidates can browse through these offers with the knowledge that they are working through a trusted professional who can put them in touch with dependable employees.
